Bruss was really struggling in camp and was demoted to 2nd/3rd string units before he was hurt. Yes, he could be a good guard, but pure speculation.
Rams rolled the dice on mediocre injury prone players like Allen and Noteboom. Allen is in year 5 and been hurt most of his career. He is a smaller center who often struggles. Noteboom is nothing special, but there were limited option at LT on the market and Rams were pressed cap. Injury prone and mediocre.
Edwards was the weakest link on the Oline last year....they kept him only because he was on a rookie contract and again, they were pressed cap and new other guard would get a big contract. He will be gone next year.
Rams have struggled drafting as Edwards, Evans, Noteboom and Allen have been mediocre at best. The best of the lot is Shelton and he came from somebody else's practice squad.
Yes injuries have been a huge problem, but can't rule out Rams kept injury prone players, have limited depth and have drafted poorly too.
