Two SB's with a Lombardi, IMHO, buys a minimum of one more year after a season like this.... and I would argue a couple, or three. McVay may be 'high maintenance' but you just can't question the fact that he can win when he's in possession of what he needs.
I remember not all that long ago going thru Lineman, Spags, Fisher... in what seemed rapid progression. I hated it.. not because I didn't think they, back then, should be replaced but rather because HC changes are one of the toughest things to deal with and go thru. I think a HC change is more of a rebuild than massive player changes.
Landing someone like McVay and THEN him instantly turning it all around was rare indeed.... something that we all should, and I think do, offer thanks to the football Gods for.
Moving on from McVay will happen... obviously, but right now that's my worst nightmare.
