it would kill fan support

I get the thinking. I do. And having Kupp sit out does, for example, allow for McCutcheon to get valuable reps that could help their WR corps overall in 2023. But in no way can they just "empty the benches"- especially sitting Stafford- until they are officially eliminated from playoff contention. And that might not be until the final 1-2 games.

They have 3 home games left. 4 really including the Chargers game. Attendance has already been tepid this year (I saw it in person at the CAR game) and if they turn the rest of the games, some of which are national TV games, into "extended preseason" some people will not show up and then not come back. The Rams don't want 25k people in the stands vs. DEN on national TV on Christmas Day...

Losing to ARZ killed any playoff hopes. I agree. But they do have plenty to play for and the fans coming to games deserve to see their best efforts. Maybe their best this year is finishing 7-10. Who knows.
