Re: Should LA Rams give up on WR Tutu Atwell?

November 12, 2022 07:56AM
Rumor at the time was that the team wanted D'Wayne Eskridge who the Seahawks took one pick earlier. The Rams then felt Atwell wouldn't be there in round 3.
As it turns out. Eskridge (5-9, 190) hasn't been all that productive either.

The main issue I see with Tutu is that he can't be an every down player. So any time he's in the game the Defense is going to assume he will be the focal point. For him to establish credibility as a decoy it means sitting a more productive player.

What I think interesting was a play vs TB where Powell was lined up in the backfield and they ran a swing pass to him. (For no gain). Why wasn't Tutu running that play?

Time to give up on Tutu? I don't see him ever contributing meaningfully.
