The Rams invested a heap of $$$$$$$ to acquire players for one purpose-and only one-to get to and win the very first SB played at the brand new multi billion dollar So Fi stadium. That came from ownership and understandably so. The expense ? Draft capital. That is now gone and when you add injuries, players exited that were valuable to us, retired players, etc, we have a shell of the team that went to the SB. Moreover, coaches of other teams are not stupid They have figured out how to negate the best player in the NFL AD. They have also figured out how McVay thinks in terms of his offensive schemes.
IMO in order to sustain top layer competitiveness in the NFL you have to maintain draft capital. By sacrificing that you may have a one year Camelot but it won't last. So here we are.
