What I've read is the Rams make a serious attempt at obtaining a good edge rusher from the Panthers but just didn't have the draft capitol. And that's intentional. Kroenke knew when So Fi would be ready for play and was assured that a SB would be there in 2022. He did everything he could to insure the Rams would not only be a participant but that also they would be good enough to win. He was a giant success as far as HIS goals. Just that now the piper must be paid and its the fans who likely will suffer more than Kroenke because he accomplished precisely what he wanted to do.
Simply put, the Rams really had no chance to make any kind of substantial move. But they did try with what they had.
