Quinn was the best option for a position of need upgrade at a reasonable price. Burns was never a realistic option and Chubb might get too pricey with so many teams in playoff hunt with more assets to trade as the deadline looms.
I pretty much agree with your assessment here, Dynasty.
But ‘best option’ is a little more complicated. Some factors Snead must consider:
Can the player be extended so that he can contribute for 3+ years?
How much real impact will this player provide? IOW, how much of a difference maker will he be on our D?
Can Rams afford the costs in picks and cap?
Can Rams find a willing trade partner in time?
Is the proposed player a good fit in the locker room?
Just on the above criterion I think Quinn and Burns were eliminated from the beginning although for different reasons.
Chubb would be my personal pick and I think he would have been right from the jump. He would be pricey but still best value. Fingers crossed.
