I think the plan they had hoped for with Bruss was he'd enter the season as the 8th OL (behind Jackson and Anchrum) and be a game day backup, get a feel for the game by playing a bit on special teams, get reps during the week, etc. with an eye on having him step in as a starter for 2023.

I think that would still be their hope but now, apart from getting a year of strength training, he'll enter camp in 2023 "cold" as far as any experience.
