How does that fix the O line?
Priorities.
Here’s my thinking.
The Ram OL is gonna fix itself simply by having starters return once healthy. Hopefully, Skura and Aboushi will be adequate bandaids until after the bye. So, no need to go crazy with outside interior O linemen.
Edge and RB, otoh, might need an ‘outside’ fix. Not sure we’re ever gonna see adequate, much less strong pressure at edge from the guys on the current roster. Lewis has just not been that consistent guy. Hollins is looking like a jag. I’m optimistic about Hardy but he’s still a rookie without a single snap in the regular season. A thin reed to build upon at this point. Floyd is playing hurt and hopefully he will get healthy soon. This D requires good pressure to offset that soft zone D that Morris favors. Right now we don’t have it and opponents are taking full advantage.
RB has question marks as you know. Can Hendo hold up? Can Brown be our bell cow? Will Williams ever make his presence felt? All legit questions, maybe even rhetorical. A decent vet RB would cost very little. We don’t need a stud like McCaffrey, but I do think some insurance at RB would be both affordable and prudent.
I’m of the opinion that this team needs a more reliable RB corps AND a better edge vet if it hopes to sniff another SB this year. Question is whether Snead/McVay can and will make those necessary moves? I think they will. The AD driven SB window will only be open maybe a couple more years and they won’t want to waste a single one.
