I'd like him, but seems to me it would be a steep cost, and as I said the big guy said he's going no place.....I mean really he is and has been their offense for a while now.....kinda like us trading Cooper if we were 1-4......A new guy at HC to try and salvage a season so he can get a look at the job next season.....lets his only real ace get out the door......doesn't sound real to me.....could happen, anything could happen, doubt it though.
McCaffrey is not without his downsides. Among them too frequent injuries and then there’s his cap cost over next few years.
A hypothetical trade partner has to weigh those factors in any negotiations.
From the pov of the Panthers, maybe a salary dump could be appealing in a rebuilding strategy. Future Ram picks could also be appealing, not to mention a current Ram player, as well.
This hypothetical trade is NOT all one sided.
Frankly, I’m wondering if Rams really have a serious interest in McCaffery the more I think about it.
