From memory of the offseason, it really seemed like the 3rd year of the contract was the difference between the Rams and Bills offers. Albany is obviously the resident capologist. To my eyes, at the time, it looked like the Rams essentially had a contract with 2-years that had high guaranteed money and the Bills had a 3rd year with guaranteed money.
Do you offer a 33-year-old pass rusher a 3-year deal with guaranteed money each of the three years? Will Von be worth a high salary at 36 years old? I can't fault Von for going to a SB contender who gave him 3 more years in the NFL. I could have lived without all his social media, belle of the ball, flirting. I am glad AD got two SB appearances and a ring. I wish he had another pass rush threat on the defense this year. I hope AD does not have to spend years as the only pass rush threat at the end of his career.
