Because who is to say this year just like the year after we went to the Super Bowl with Goff, or the year after we won the Super Bowl with Warner, is just an off year and the team might just bounce back to the peak of it's powers the following year. The line is all healthy, deeper because of experience this year and hopefully attention paid to it in the offseason as well as hopefully a fully healthy OBJ on the roster. You don't leave the casino after your first bad hand is dealt to you.
That being said the only team that would consider paying the price the Rams would ask for Donald is the Steelers, if AD really wanted to finish his career there what would it take? Would a TJ and Cam suffice? Or what two player combination of the three defensive monsters Watt, Heyward, Fitzpatrick? I know Watt and Fitzpatrick are the younger of the three but the Rams (and I) value DL over S. Would the Steelers go for Heyward and Watt for hometown hero AD, and for the Rams would that be a good deal?
