Legion of Boom had edge rushers who could disrupt timing, force hasty throws, chase QB's on broken plays, and get sacks.
With pressure coming off the edge, virtually every play, QB's were very often forced to throw before coveraqe broke down.
We don't have that.
I've seen a lot of commentary proclaiming that Donald made Von Miller better when he came here; that Von was otherweise washed up.
I didn't buy that but wasn't on the board then. What I saw was Von making the secondary better by reducing the time they had to cover. I saw Von sealing the edge on running plays, forcing runs inside for Gaines and AR to clean up. I saw Von attracting attention that made AD better - fewer double coverages and no triples that I recall. It was synchronicity - pick your poison.
This year, at this time, we don't have that.
