I was going to start a thread about this after listening to the 11 personnel podcast this week or maybe it was Locked on Rams. What struck me was how they mentioned how teams game plan against the Rams, emphasize the quick game to avoid the monster that is Aaron Donald and it occurred to me thinking about how bad our offensive line is right now, when has McVay ever changed "his" scheme to fit a situation. In a larger meta way I guess he adjusted the outlook to suit Goff when he came in but once he has a plan for a QB he never really changes. People ask why not bring in a real FB, nope that would be too much like Kyle. McVay is soooo set in his ways the Athletic felt confident enough that McVay never adjusts or changes that they named the Rams podcast the, "11 Personnel" think about that what other coach could you say that about? Andy Reid, Kyle Shannahan, any of the other McVay acolytes any of them so devoted to a particular personnel package? McVay doesn't fail to adjust he refuses to. Which is good until it isn't. The zone blitz was hard to stop until it wasn't, so too the Bear front or the Tampa Two. I fear the Fangio/Staley scheme is getting figured out so if all you have is one thing and refuse to adjust...What is the saying adapt or die. Mike Martz refused to put down the Zampese and he is out of the league.
