There's no way of knowing the outcome of things that didn't happen. As much as I feel the pick was a waste, to say if we'd just picked Creed, all would be right in the world is to misunderstand how the world works. Which I don't profess to know, by the way. As Rusty pointed out - Creed could've got hurt last year or this, we don't know. Or maybe we would still be leaking up front as everyone around him went down.
We drafted Lawrence Phillips and then 3 years later we won the superbowl, so who know how it all plays out in the end. Didn't the Packers draft a bust OT (later became a decent guard, I think) then got Farvre and started a winning tradition.
If the organization is sound - mistakes have a way of sorting themselves out. We drafted tutu and won the superbowl - just like you can't say one thing followed the other, you can't say that drafting Creed would have been better for us this year.
Can't believe I wrote all this, after calling him out as a bust (which I still do) I just don't stay up thinking about it. It happened, as someone on this board used to sign - 'don't look back, you're not going that way'
And who knows what part tutu may play - did anyone think gollum would play a role in destroying the ring. Not that I'm comparing tutu to gollum...but...
