First - ain't no one, and that includes me, happy with that fumble today. At the same time... that was no ordinary fumble, ( not that there's a good fumble, no such thing).... but that was direct helmet to ball, (and HARD), contact that IMHO would have jarred the ball loose from every RB in the league.
And then there is this... Akers snapped the O out of the doldrums in this game. I don't see any other way of seeing it. Our O had stalled. IOW... hate Aker's guts but he is the closest thing to a running game, a potent running game that is, that the Ram's have right now. I don't see any other RB on this roster, nor Brown (whom I like a lot), doing what Akers can do.
He's on thin ice with me, granted... but he's also this year's best hope for a potent running game IMHO. And that fumble today is NOT of the type where I ship him off to Siberia. - JamesJM

I agree, James. That was not a sloppy fumble at all. It was legit a great play by the defender.
