He uses offensive coordinators to help with installing the gameplay for the week. Personally I think it's smart. His offenses are always top ten so why would he give up play calling? If a person wrote thier own show they might hire other writers for help but they're still gonna write the majority of the story because it's theirs.
As for the play calling last week. It was awful. But it's not anything we haven't seen from Mcvay from before. The Superbowl against the pats was a great example. Defense kept us in it all game but he just did not adjust. I think that's always been his flaw. But it's the NFL. Nobody is gonna be head and shoulders above anyone else. Even the best brains in the world get spanked sometimes. Mcvay will have his bad weeks just like every offensive and defensive coordinator. But his resume and results speak for themselves.
As for the Robinson comments. It means almost nothing. They paid him 15 million a year. Atlanta knows Robinson will have to be accounted for. Mcvay saying they wanna get Robinson going more is practically coach speak. Could mean 12 targets. Could be 4. Or anything in between.
