Seems like there was a lot of sloppy play by many teams. Some teams (Chiefs) are on cruise control already. But overall, aside from it being week #1, there was a LOT of sputtering.
Yup, this past week was as sloppy as I have ever seen. If it continues and good teams start losing games to start the season, I think we might see a change in philosophy coming.
IMO, players need the "live reps". I get the "avoiding injuries" thing but look how many players got dinged up in the first game anyway! If the get hurt in the preseason at least you have some time to replace them.
McVay and Morris did not call any plays during preseason. Both allowed assistants to make calls. They were not ready for live action or adjustments as well!
