With our OL looking weak and with two starters going down we might need to run more 12 just to get through the game. SKOW is a big body decent blocker so if we are in 11 he's probably on the field. With VJ out in 11, you're probably not getting a lot of blocking from Tutu or even Powell. Can McCutcheon block a lineman? I don't know. I know he can catch 50-50 passes down the field. Without a solid OL our whole attack is different. We can't have all those double move deep throws. We'll need to run quick hitters, screens and slants. We'll need to try to run more effectively to keep the D at bay.
We as a group thought that our starting OL would hold up, but we lost Allen and Boom is injured already. Bruss is out for the year. We had little depth and after one game we are near the bottom of our depth. This must be fixed. No need to worry about how many snaps or targets our skills guy get if Stafford is being dragged down and beaten up. I'm hoping Ancrum can really pick it up. I hope Boom can play with this strained MCL. It sucks that the RB we traded up to get us already out for half the season. Time to get back to fundamentals and beat Atlanta. If we do, and I'm not so sure that we will we will be 1-1 with nearly a full schedule left. Hope VJ is back week 3 and we can go from there.
