after Kupp became the #1 option on 100% of the plays drawn up after Stafford arrived.
I suspect that this is the issue more than anything else.
After the Ram offense could only muster 20 points against AZ last season (1st match-up), Woods went to McVay. Some people call that "complaining," but I see it as Woods going to his coach (in private) and asking what he (Woods) can do better to help the team. He (Woods) knew the offense's capabilities more than anyone else at that time.
What happened after that?
Well, Woods is targeted 14 times up in Seattle, hauling in 12 receptions for 150 yards. Those aren't the type of numbers someone produces if they can't get open. BTW...Kupp also talled 10 targets that same game. So, McVay CAN have Stafford spread it around...if he wants to.
Whether it be a lack of touches for Todd Gurley; the overall rushing attack; or, Robert Woods, we DO hear McVay admit,
Yeah, I have to do a better job of getting him/it involved.Maybe it's not just coach-speak.
