Fair assessment JM; I'm expecting Boom to be Boom, and not Whit; good journeyman pro just now getting the full-time nod as a starter vs. HOF player and leader. I won't get down on him as he stumbles on that path - it's to be expected.
I'm more concerned with keeping him healthy through twenty-odd games than his quality of play - 'nuff said on that point.
I also hope to see more two tight end sets so the rush of Bosa and others can be nullified while the remaining receivers get open - or maybe Harris tight on the right side, and Higbee moved to the left. Or maybe Williams to chip the edge rusher... Many possibilities - McVay holds the keys.
