Thanks! It's good to be back.
I was around a lot for the post '99 Super Bowl years, and when organization management/Martz chased Vermiel off, dumped Warner, I just sorta wandered off... and, during that time, life got a little complicated as it often does - no time for much of anything football.
Nonetheless, I'd dial up the Herd board every now and then, see what the gang had to say. I watched old familiar faces leave, and new ones come on board.
Through it all I've learned much here from Herd members. I live in an area not served by cable, and the notion of a dish, high winds in winter, and the fact that we don't watch much television except for NFL football on the major broadcast networks, the Herd board is my connection with a sport and a team that I've loved since childhood.
My family lived in a sleepy little area on the edge of the Mojave Desert in southern California, about 85 miles east of LA, when I was a fourth grader in 1949 and started playing football. Television was in its infancy then, and at some point I saw the Rams on TV. This nine-year-old thought those helmets with horns on the side were super neat-o, and the idea of two quarterbacks instead of one was super neat-o too. At school we'd argue who was better: Van Brocklin or Waterfield. We got our first TV in 1952 and my dad and I were glued to it every time the Rams were on. Childhood was a long time aago, and I was a Ram fan then.
I'm still that way. Thanks for welcoming me back to the Herd.
