I'm not sure why Funk is getting ragged on for 'only' being good on special teams.
A guy can rack up over 200 snaps on teams in a season. The Rams had 7 guys do it last year, lead by Nick Scott with 358.
If Funk gets two or three hundred snaps on teams that's a big deal. We've all seen crappy special teams undermine the efforts of a good defense and offense. And if Funk contributes to whatever ST successes the Rams have this year his contribution should be acknowledged.
I wish the NFL would let the Rams list Funk as ST rather than RB: that change alone would most likely tone down the derision being hurled his way. Maybe judge him for what he is (ST) rather than that 'RB' tag he carries?
