The way the Rams played it they kept all the OL they wanted to keep. Granted, some are on the 53 and some are on the practice squad but all told the Rams have 12 OL under contract: 8 on the active roster, 3 on the PS, plus International Practice Player Pircher.
As I understand it from reading several articles on this board they Rams thought Evans would be claimed if they cut him to keep Arcuri on the 53. Then the Rams would have had to sign someone like Jack Snyder to get up to 12 OL.
The way to look at it: Evans is more desirable than Snyder. This isn't between Evans and Arcuri - it's between Evans and Snyder.
I understand your assessment, AlbaNY. It explains the decision to keep Evans.
My problem is that Evans still sucks at both OG and OT. There’s no getting around that. So WTH was the point of all the maneuvering to retain a mediocre OL in the first place?
Therein lies the mystery to me.
