The preseason games for the Rams are meant to evaluate talent and train players. Injuries happen and a team needs it's 2nd and 3rd string guys to be the best they can be in order to adequately replace the injured player. These games are not important to the first string but are important to the 2nd and 3rd string. It's obvious that the guys out there were doing their best to shine because they want to make the team. They didn't look very good.
Winning or losing a preseason game isn't a big deal. I really liked how our team looked in its loss against Houston and I felt very good about our team as others here did as well. I don't like how our guys looked in this game.
Let's face it, lots of guys here are concerned about our 2nd string QB. None of them have looked as sharp as Cinn 3rd string QB all preseason long. Certainly not the end of the world or a forecast of doom, just a concern for me. If Stafford goes down early in the season who would be confident we'd even make the playoffs with our schedule?
