Really didn't go into detail of what McVay truly intends. If the Rams keep 2 TE's it's obvious that they wanted to keep McCutcheon & Harris with the WR as McVay mentions (Kupp) being able to play the TE role along with an extra Offensive Lineman. Now it's possible the Rams love Roger Carter and they plan on using Carter as a TE/FB which McVay has not done yet, but it is something that's available in his offense.
I like the idea of an extra offensive lineman on short yardage plays. That should be a better option then any TE. They did that last year several times with Noteboom, this year, most likely it would be either Jackson or Anchrum that fills that void this year. In the end, if the Rams carry only 2 TE's, it's obvious they wanted to keep Harris as the hybrid WR/TE. If Roger Carter makes the team, it's obvious they liked Carter's ability to block and play special teams over Blanton. I doubt that Jared Pinkney will be number 3, although I do know the Rams liked him and was upset he was poached by Detroit so they were pleased to add him back.
