Wow ! Fathertime rolls right along & he realizes those days are getting further & further & further in the rearview mirror & that spotlight is & has been long gone as its for the NFL players of the present.
He needs to be grateful for the time he had as some dont even get that. He needs to accept everything with Appreciation & Grace. I can imagine what fellow HOFers & fellow NFL Players think about what he said, they are probably like Wow ! but not really surprised.
