Rams training camp preview: Who starts at safety next to Jordan Fuller?

With Rapp, he’s actually making a decent chunk of money this year. He has a cap hit of $2.9 million, which is the 12th-highest hit on the team. If the Rams don’t believe he’s worth that much, they can cut him and save $2.5 million. That’ll be a real possibility if he gets beat out by Burgess and Scott.

he maybe 12th in cap space on the rams but he's the 35th highest cap space for a safety in the league. 35 out of 64 starting safeties. and he's obviously the highest paid safety on the rams.

2.9m is a pittance for a starting safety. but on the other hand 2.9m goes a long way towards re-signing obj, or getting a 4th d-lineman or help at rb.

rapp has a target on his helmet apparently.

if he can show his worth to be 3M or better (which again, is not much at all for a starting satety) he still has to out play lake and yeast by a wide enough margin to send one of them to the practice squad. i think aside from fuller, scott is a lock and burgess may very well have the inside track.
