Here are some players that I differ with the author, but we all know things can change once camp starts, especially when the pads come on.
I see Perkins as our new #2. If not, then I think Rams keep 3 QB’s again. Hard to do on a talented roster but the position is worth it.
Kyren Williams definitely makes this 53. In fact, I think he beats out Hendy for #2 spot at some point by mid season.
Brandon Powell makes the 53 for certain. They’ll call him a WR but he’s here as a stud returner. Bank this one.
Atwell makes the 53 as 4th WR (until OBJ returns). Atwell will struggle mightily to get snaps other than in blowouts. This will be an elite WR corps.
I kinda doubt that Bobby Evans makes the 53, tbh. Too many wasted opportunities at this point. I suspect that Carberry will see more upside in another candidate. Evans would surely be gone next year, anyway, so why wait?
Dixon and Dicker is pick ‘em. This will be settled in camp and maybe not until opening day.
The battles for 4th and 5th Safeties will be fierce. I like Quentin Lake’s chances. I would prefer that Rams traded Rapp for player or pick. He’s now looking like a player without a true position on this particular D.
The battle for 5th CB will be interesting to say the least. Durant is most likely but we shouldn’t go to sleep on Kendrick.
The battles for those last 10 or so players should be epic.
4th RB
8th through maybe 10th OL
4th through 6th WR
6th DL
5th Edge
4th-5th ILB
5th CB
5th maybe 6th Safety
Punter
Whew! Only thing we know is that there will surely be surprises come July and August. And that once again coaches will be forced to make excruciating cuts.
That CB pecking order outside of Ramsey might see some serious shuffling all summer long. Just might be the most competitive position group on this team. Goodness.
