Agreed. One thing Stafford is going to be fighting the rest of his career is that age and Detroit window stigma. If he plays for 3 or 4 years in this system then that will be diluted year to year as we go forward but it's a real factor. So I'm good with them having him as the 6th QB even though I think he's a top three guy in this offense.
What's going to be funny is if he wins the MVP which he should be a top favorite for. Things are aligned for him. Second season in this offense. McVay in his prime running the show. New OC who might be an upgrade. Robinson added to Kupp and company. Jefferson potentially taking a big step forward. Tutu waiting in the wings. Akers possibly being healthy this year and a better RB2 behind him possibly. And so on.
Two things that can derail that are the OL changes struggling or the defense taking a dive. Neither of which seem likely to me right now. And of course injuries as always. But this season looks like another one that is going to elevate Stafford in the eyes of the media.
