Jalen Ramsey is the DB Patrick Mahomes hates facing the most

Jalen Ramsey is the type of player that every quarterback is aware of when facing the Los Angeles Rams defense. He may not be someone who comes down with a ton of interceptions every year, but he locks down No. 1 receivers consistently and helps neutralize the opposing team’s passing attack.

His combination of size, speed, range and instincts make him a defensive back no one wants to go up against.

Prior to “The Match” this past week, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were asked which DB they hate facing the most. For Mahomes, the pick was Ramsey.

“Probably Jalen Ramsey I’d say for me. Pretty good guy. Pretty good player. Fast, big. Loves to talk a little trash, too. He’s a pretty good player,” he said.

Ramsey hasn’t faced Mahomes as a member of the Rams, but they did square off twice while Ramsey was with the Jaguars. He didn’t pick off Mahomes and doesn’t have a pass breakup against him, either.

In 2019, Ramsey allowed six catches on nine targets for 84 yards against the Chiefs, one of his poorer performances in a 40-26 Week 1 loss. The year prior, he gave up just three catches on six targets for 59 yards.

Ramsey and the Rams will face Mahomes’ Chiefs in Week 12, a Sunday afternoon game at Arrowhead Stadium. Ramsey won’t have Tyreek Hill to deal with, but slowing down the Chiefs offense will still be a challenge.

As for the other DBs Brady, Rodgers and Allen picked, Brady went with Ed Reed, Rodgers picked Charles Woodson and Allen named Tre’Davious White.
