She said that Erica got her own deal. Did AD's influence matter? Of course.
But to characterize this as a packaged deal (essentially both part of the same contract, or one dependent... in writing... on the other) does not seem to necessarily be the case. To this point Erica hasn't been heard from so I think any concern of comparison to Brenda Warner is dubious.
As for Brenda Warner. Yeah, she was a very strong woman. But... we forget with Georgia, Shaw and Martz the Rams were a mess. Martz was a jerk and disrespectful... in no way HC material... and thought he was God. He was kicking a record setting QB, Superbowl winner, Superbowl MVP to the curb and demanding that he play with a bad thumb, and then openly criticizing him when his play wasn't up to par, as though he was some scrub.
So... while I was pretty taken aback by Brenda when it was all happening, in hindsight I think I was wrong and that she got a very bad rap.
