Yeah, Rapp has a ‘niche role’ if the DC decides to get him on the field in certain schemes, I suppose.
But now we have Wagner and an emerging Jones inside which should improve Rams D both vs run and pass. Fuller and Scott seem like virtual locks to start at safety. I suspect that Hill will be our slot in nickel and Ramsey and some combo of Long/Rochell will be boundary starters at CB.
There’s gonna be stiff competition to see the field in dime coverage what with the new draft class plus Burgess is reportedly shining in OTA’s so far.
So I keep asking myself the question as to whether Rapp is among the best options anymore on D in any given package? Or put another way, who does Morris want to sit in order to get Rapp on the field?
That’s why I keep asking whether Rapp is now a player without a position. Meaning that he’s no longer the best Ram option at ANY position anymore?
