Wagner makes that weakness a true strength(along with Earnest). Both guys also blitz very well...so pass rush may be strong but different from what we have envisioned(ie coming off the EDGE). Wagner looks to have 2-3yrs left in his body as he led the team in tackles last year at his age.
It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
You make a great point that the pass rush will be different with Jones and Wagner. Assuming that is true the defense will have a different look and feel and teams will take time to adjust during the first 1/3 of the season. Also I am with you that we will finally do a better job of stopping the run which just always seems to annoy the crap out of me.
When Von Miller started really making his presence felt the entire defense started to make explosive game changing plays which was key in our SB run. Wagner and a maturing Jones can have the same impact freeing up the other playmakers, Donald, Ramsey & Floyd to wreck havoc. It would be nice to see a big play maker, perhaps Scott, emerge at safety and possibly one of the young studs on the edge to develop.
There is a lot to be excited about.
