Cooper Kupp just had one of the greatest seasons by a wide receiver in NFL history. He caught 145 passes for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, leading the league in all three categories before tacking on 33 catches, 478 yards and six touchdowns in the playoffs.

Kupp was named Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP, capping off an incredible season for the former third-round pick.

Yet, Sean McVay believes he’ll be even better in 2022. The numbers may not reflect that, but McVay says Kupp will only continue to improve as a route runner, blocker and leader in the Rams’ locker room.

“I do believe Cooper Kupp is going to play better next year,” McVay told Rich Eisen. “Now, whether or not the stats reflect that is a totally different conversation. But the consistency at which he plays, the way that he’ll continue to perfect his craft of running routes, being a part of the blocking surface, helping mentor guys in his group or really just his teammates, continuing to lead at a higher level. He is gonna get better because he works at it the right way and he’s wired physically and mentally the right way. He’s such a stud.”

It’s hard to fathom Kupp having a better season statistically than the one he had in 2021 – he’s the only player in league history with 140 catches and 1,900 yards – but McVay is right about his work ethic and dedication to constantly improving.

The Rams have shared videos and photos of Kupp working out seemingly every day during the offseason program, taking a page out of Aaron Donald’s book as a tireless worker.
