There's no 1 for 1 replacement for a 1st ballot HOFer like Von Miller.
The OLB room isn't bare, however. We all saw what the kid Garrett did pass rushing last year in preseason. He blew up OT's the same way AD blows up OGs. Even so, he wasn't ready to be a full time player. But that was last year.
Hollins was playing quite well until his injury. The only thing that will ever hold Terrell Lewis back is that balky knee. But, if there's a team medical and training staff that can get the most out of him it's the Rams'.
The Rams have a ton of young guys on the roster last year, that this year will be 2nd and 3rd year players. This is when the guys that have it, bloom. There's a reason they keep so many of these late round and UDFA picks. It's because all the physical and mental traits are there. But can they be developed?
One player that is completely off the radar that I'm intrigued about is the DT Hoecht. A freak. Over 300 and runs a 4.65. They ought to turn him into a part time FB. If he takes the usual step after his rookie season, he could be one of those Morgan Fox type of players.
All that said, I suspect the Rams are keeping an eye out for a veteran OLB to come available, and should that happen, they'll pounce.
