DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Let the wild speculation begin.
Shortly after demanding a trade out of San Francisco, 49ers star receiver Deebo Samuel was ready to pour gasoline on the fire he had already started.
As noted by Dallas Morning News' beat reporter Michael Gehlken and others, Samuel liked an image a fan sent him of how he'd look in a Cowboys uniform.
And as Gehlken also noted, Samuel and Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb share the same agent and spent time together at the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas.
Despite re-signing Michal Gallup and bringing in Steelers deep threat James Washington this offseason, the Cowboys still have a need at the wide receiver position after trading away Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and losing Cedrick Wilson to the Miami Dolphins in free agency.
Dallas could fill the void left by Cooper by drafting one of the very intriguing wide receivers in this year's draft class with the No. 24 overall pick next Thursday, or they could trade up to make sure they get their guy.
Alabama's Jameson Williams, Ohio State's Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, USC's Drake London, and Arkansas' Treylon Burks are wideouts being mocked to teams around the top half of the first round.
Or, they could trade a boatload of picks to the 49ers and pay big bucks to Samuel, who could be seeking $25 million annually.
