I first became aware of him when my close friend mentioned his name in 1970. I saw that he was a big man for the times.
I was surprised at the time cause he was a low draft pick from 1967, and he appeared to come out of nowhere to me.
But he was a great one for the Cowboys during their first dynasty days.
Cowboys were famous in those days for converting no names into All-Pros.
I also remember his memorable Hall of Fame speech. It's worth a listen.
