It's not about the money. We just wanna make sure it doesn't happen again."
Remember back in the day when players would routinely say "I would play this game for FREE"...and actually mean it?
Today's game is filled with more players who just want to make as much $$$ as possible than there are players who just "love the game". I am sure there are many who still play for the love of the game and it is quite possible to be both types. You can still want all the money and love the game too but I think there are many who just love the "money".
I get the money thing and I don't blame them. They DESERVE the money. The owners are making a killing at the players expense. Just saying that it is a different "breed" of players nowadays. Not sure if that's good or bad. The NFL seems to be doing just fine! lol
So what's the difference between playing for money over playing for love of the game?
Do you play better or with more "heart" when playing for the "love of the game" than for "money"?
Jack Youngblood would be a great play for the "love of the game" example.
I think Kyler Murray is a play for the "money" guy and would drop football and go play baseball without a second thought...and I'd be ok with that! lol
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
