Rams Draft Successes - no one is perfect so really they have earned the right to miss on Tutu - their track record speaks for itself

March 31, 2022 12:24PM
2017 Draft
2 Gerald Everett - signed with Chargers
3 Cooper Kupp - Do I need to say anything here?
3 John Johnson - starter in Cleveland
4 Josh Reynolds - possible starter in Det. At least will see the field
4 Samson Ebukam - Starter with SF
6 Tanzel Smart - out of the league but played for 4 years
6 Sam Rogers - never made a NFL team
7 Ejuan Price - played one game in 2017, bounced around PSs, until 2019

Kupp and Johnson great picks, five players who are/were starters, and another had a 4 year career. Last two picks a 6 and a 7 did not really work.

2018 Draft
3 Noteboom - Will Be LT Starter in 2022
4 Brian Allen - Starter
4 John Franklin-Myers - Starter for the Jets
5 Micah Kiser - Backup for LV
5 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo - signed 3.25 million deal to go to Houston
6 John Kelly - Backup on Cleveland
6 Jamil Demby - Somehow stayed on Rams roster until now
6 Sebastian Joseph-Day - Signed to be a starter for Chargers
6 Trevon Young - out of the league
7 Travin Howard - on Rams in 2021
7 Justin Lawler - Signed by Titans for 2022

At least 4 starters in the league only one player did not last, but one could argue that Demby did not deserve to stick around. However, these "poor" picks are both 6th rounders. Even both 7th rounders were on teams last year (or will be next year).

2019 Draft
2 Taylor Rapp - at least part time starter
3 Darrell Henderson - at least part time lead back
3 David Long - backup, maybe starter next year
3 Bobby Evans - backup
4 Greg Gaines - starter - will get a nice contract next year from some team
5 David Edwards - starter - will get a nice contract next year from some team
7 Nick Scott - at least part time starter (either he or Rapp will start next year)
7 Dakota Allen - no longer on Rams but played in 14 games with 1 start for the Jags.

At least four starters and no busts (worst case is 7th rounder Allen who did not stick on Rams but is still in the league three years later).

2020 Draft
2 Cam Akers - starter
2 Van Jefferson - starter (#3 WR)
3 Terrell Lewis - frequently injured but still with team
3 Terrell Burgess - backup Safety
4 Brycen Hopkins - never showed much until 2021 playoffs - but will likely be a backup on Rams in 22
6 Jordan Fuller - Starter
7 Clay Johnston - backup with Carolina and then Cinn.
7 Sam Sloman - not currently in the NFL
7 Tremayne Anchrum - backup OL
At least three starters and two players who did not stick (one who is not even in the league - BUT both are 7th round picks).

I, like many people, did not like the Tutu pick but seriously no one is perfect so we can cut them some slack. You can still not the pick but really the Rams have a way better hit rate than probably any team in the league.
