Linking into Twitter without an account is slow and awkward.
More broadly, all posts that rely on links are slow and awkward. I would suggest the following:
A post linking to a separate source should always include at least a summary of what the source offers. This does not have to be extensive. Maybe a few sentences of paraphrase. Then the reader can decide whether to follow up with the link.
On the other hand, there should ALWAYS be a link. Always. Especially with quoted material. An attribution without a link is incomplete.
Actually, I would advise people to quote far less. Give a nice, succinct summary and provide a link. Let people decide whether to read the whole thing.
