Risky but possible.

I don't know the numbers, but I really doubt Wagner will get more by waiting. More vets tend to get cut for cap space than vets added at the sort of money he's looking for.

The bigger bucks for FA deals have mostly dried up. We're now into the secondary phase of the FA where the 2nd and 3rd tier guys get picked up for better deals for the teams. Maybe he ought to ask himself why he didn't land a big deal? If he had an agent, that question might have come up.

If Wagner waits until well into the season, then that $11 million gets diminished game by game.

It's a risky game that is a combination of chicken and musical chairs. But unless a team is a 4-3 that has a full time true MLB on the field, then I'm not sure where the value lies..... for the team. Certainly not for the Rams.

Yep. And not having an agent exacerbates it.

If he wants $11M then let him get it with a perennial loser
