I am really surprised that the Rams have not filled at least one of the two holes threw free agency.
IMHO both positions have to be addressed. Are they hoping they can fill both holes in the draft ? If that is the case I think it is rather dangerous. Are they waiting for some cuts during pre season ? Could be but then again do you get better value than what is left right now in free agency ?

Cbs still available include Gilmore, old friend Jenkins, Patrik Peterson and Joe Haden.
The latter two at one time during their careers were bona fide shutdown corners and while no longer at that level they could provide solid cb play opposite Ramsey. Both should come rather cheap and are worth a closer look.
Gilmore and Jenkins still can play though not at the level as before. No question.
Another option and younger could be Nelson who finally stayed healthy and has been a solid starter for some time now with different teams.

At DE Clowney and Arden Key look to be the two guys I would consider.
Clowney is a career underachiever but playing next to AD could finally produce the numbers that were expected from him or at least double digit sacks in the vicinity of 10-12.
Key is intriguing. Had 6,5 sacks for the Niners last season and is still young at 26.

Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m a bit surprised, too, dodger.

Maybe the Rams like their CB room better than we do? I’m a bit queasy about putting all our CB eggs, other than Ramsey, in the current basket as we pursue another SB. Yeah, they’ll draft CB for sure but their first pick will be late Day 2, so how much help do they really expect to get there in his first year?

It’s not like Snead to leave a hole on his roster when he enters the draft so I suspect that they have contingency plans in place via FA or a trade of some sort in the works to bolster our CB ‘situation’.

As to Edge? This is the one that most troubles me. To go from Von Miller to nobody new seems untenable. I’m not comfortable with just our current guys plus there seems to be zero depth when the inevitable injury occurs. Again, finding a first year solution in this draft while picking so low is a tall order, even for Snead.

Honestly, the only thing that makes sense is that Snead has contingency plans for Edge here, too. FA or trade, I dunno. Probably won’t be a household name. But I’d bet a ton of money that Snead will make a move of some sort at edge prior to the draft.
