It's always been about the money.

What they didn't have was the freedom to decide where and for whom they would play. The NFL has become a billion-dollar entertainment giant and the players now have the same basic rights that most contracted workers have. And frankly few of us would ever mourn the difference between 7 and 10 million dollars a year. I personally would take just one and call it a day.
