I read something that essentially said Clayton's appearance did not help him in the NFL world, but he was able to overcome it with his professionalism.

I read a player comment about Clayton recently. The player was a 1st round pick who had a rough rookie season. He said (paraphrasing) John Clayton would ask the tough questions, but he was always respectful in his tone and word choice as he did so.
