The details of Robinson's contract haven't been released yet but that doesn't mean we're flying blind.
If the Rams structure Robinson's 3 year, $46.5M deal the way they did Brian Allen's 3 year, $40M deal then Robinson would have a cap hit of $5M in 2022 ... if the Rams did this:
2022 $2M salary plus $3M pro-rated signing bonus = $5M cap hit
2023 $9M salary plus $5M roster bonus plus $3M pro-rated signing bonus = $17M cap hit
2024 $10.5M salary plus $5M roster bonus plus $3M pro-rated signing bonus = $18.5M cap hit
2025 void year - no salary, just the $3M pro-rated signing bonus = $3M cap hit
2026 void year - no salary, just the $3M pro-rated signing bonus = $3M cap hit
(I took Brian Allen's contract and upped the signing bonus from $10M to $15M and then added a half million to the salary in each of the first 3 years. That accounts for the $6.5M difference and increases the cap hit in '22, '23, and '24 by $1.5M and also increases the cap hit in both '25 and '26 by $1M.)
