I assume he meant that if Donald is flirting with retirement, then perhaps offer it up as an option to Donald.

The thinking being if he retires you get zippo in return.

You trade him and you get a haul.

Obviously the first choice is for him to remain a Ram.

If he's done with the Rams in his mind at this point (not saying he is), then you have to explore options other than just letting him walk with zero return.
