Looking into the all in trades that helped win the SB updated

The only trades that really fit are those where we basically rented players for 2021 only. That would be Miller for a 2022 2 and 3 and Michel for a 2022 6 a 2023 4. Miller left for Buffalo and the Rams will recoup a 2023 5. Unless the Rams sign a free agent that counts as a cancellation who makes more that runs around 5 or 6 million a year, when Michel leaves he will not bring a draft pick back in compensation as the Rams would have maxed out their comp picks with deals that bring back more in return than what Michel would be worth.
So in total this year's 2, 3 and 6 and next year's 4 with a comp 5 coming back. The typical value for future picks is to count them as worth one round lower in the current draft. So again that would mean we would give up our 2, 3, 5 (next year's 4) and drop a spot or two in the 6th (our pick would be a pick higher than the top or #2 5th comp pick equivalent in 2023). Adding up the value of all those picks is worth somewhere between pick 44 (12th pick in the second round) on the Rich Hill chart and pick 49 (17th pick in the second round) on the Jimmy Johnson chart. One can make a clear statement that it was definitely worth it. Looking long term there are implications - missing out on the chance to add depth or stars to the team plus less likely to have comp picks coming in the 2026 draft when these players hit free agency. I think almost every team would make those moves if they were assured of the outcome but this will have both short and long term effects on the Rams depth and roster for years to come. On the positive side there are no long term cap hits (no dead money chewing up cap space).
