Snead has grown as a GM and has done a great job of putting a roster together for McVay. They have added talent everyway possible and done so in a sustainable manner.
Yes Snead has some big draft strikeouts in Robinson and Austin and maybe even Goff, though the big mistake with Goff was the contract IMO.
The draft is a crap shoot and you are going to strikeout just like in baseball. Every great home run hitter usually strikes out a bunch and every great GM strikes out too.
Snead has hit some home runs, grand slams if you will in Donald and Kupp both all pro's with Donald being an all time great and Kupp on the way towards that type of recognition. He also has a bunch of singles, doubles and some home runs many of which are in the latter rounds. In fact he has done a great job bringing in draft talent and UDFA that have filled holes in Rams lineup.
He may still have that Austin Blind spot as Tu Tu looks pretty iffy so we will have to see how that works out. But overall he has shown that he is the best or at least one of the best GM's in the business. On Top of that you would have to look long and hard to find a GM and Head Coach that are tied at the hip and on the same page and operate in an egoless environment. That is the true beauty of the organization when 2 extremely talented people can work so well together. Mr. Ying and Yang if you will.
On a positive not there will be no massive whiffs like Robinsons or Austin for a few years because we won't have any high picks to screw up on. Let's hope Tu Tu makes it so we can forget about Austin who at least in still in the league. Robinson who had more natural talent than any lineman in a long time chose the dark path and is now in Jail. When you think about it no wonder Les chose the more certain route with to 1st rounders.
