Which team has more hits that misses on total draft picks? That team doesn't exist.
The chance of hitting on your 1st round pick is approximately 50% and it goes straight down from there by round.
So of course there will be a lot of misses for every team. When you evaluate a team's history of draft picks you have to base it on the reality of NFL drafting and not some standard of perfection. The majority of players drafted every year don't make it in the NFL.
Snead built a Super Bowl winning roster that's been in the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years. He's done it by hitting on a lot of mid/late round picks, which isn't easy to do.
I'd bet 90% of the league would kill for a drafting record like the Rams have had under Snead.
Snead certainly has had his misses....every GM does, but it's really hard to argue with his overall record, unless you're using some unrealistic standard of draft evaluations.
